About Dr. Nagu Penakacherla (Chair)

Dr Nagu Penakacherla is a Portfolio General practitioner (GP), emerges from humble beginnings to become a beacon of compassionate healthcare. Born to proud working class parents entrenched in business, who weathered substantial losses, Dr. Penakacherla intimately understands the struggles of the poor and middle-class. With a remarkable 97% trust rating from patients, well surpassing the average, Dr. Nagu Penakacherla consistently earns accolades for treating patients with a human touch, embodying empathy and understanding in every interaction. Dr. Penakacherla is primary founder of the “Doctorsforlabour” friends group, aimed at mobilizing support from healthcare professionals nationwide and also moral support from all over the doctors in the world for the Labour party and its NHS policies. Also having experienced both the affluent and impoverished aspects of society, he holds a profound understanding of its dynamics
Having cultivated a vast network across the globe through his work and studies in various countries, Dr. Penakacherla is poised to leverage these connections to strengthen international ties and propel Britain forward.
As a member of the West Midlands RCGP faculty, he plays an integral role in shaping the future of primary care, advocating for equitable healthcare access and representation. Actively involved in local CLP, Dr. Penakacherla serves as the BAME officer for the Ladywood constituency, proudly representing the Labour party, Co-operative party, and Fabian Society.
With triple postgraduate qualifications in public health and primary care, including a Master’s from the University of Cincinnati in health promotion and education, and a Family Medicine postgraduation in India, Dr. Penakacherla is a distinguished member of the Royal College of GPs, as well as a Fellow of the RSA and FRSPH.
Driven by a passion for research, Dr. Penakacherla collaborated with European doctors to publish research on COVID-19, contributing to the global understanding of the pandemic’s impact on healthcare. He has diverse Special Interests in Dermatology, Sleep Medicine, Diabetes, Women’s Health, Palliative care, Medical Education & Public Health. With an unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation, Dr. Penakacherla continues to be a transformative force in the field of healthcare, determined to forge strong bonds with other nations to make Britain great again. Dr Suresh Raghunath

Vice President – International Relations
Dr. Suresh Raghunath, Principal Consultant Oncologist at Pacific International Hospital in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and Honorary Teaching Faculty at the School of Medicine, UPNG, is a distinguished figure in the field of oncology. Known for his pioneering work in establishing essential oncology services from the ground up in a nation of 9 million, he is one of only four oncologists serving the entire country.
Prior to his impactful role in Papua New Guinea, Dr. Raghunath honed his expertise at the prestigious Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in India, situated in the heart of the cancer belt in North India. During his tenure there, he attended to a remarkable 34,700 medically documented oncology encounters, both electronically and in person.
Dr. Raghunath’s dedication to cancer care extends beyond patient interactions. He has actively contributed to cancer awareness initiatives and policy shaping in Papua New Guinea, emphasizing the importance of screening, awareness, and training programs. His efforts have been instrumental in driving forward compassionate cancer care within the nation.
Recognized for his expertise, Dr. Raghunath’s research has garnered accolades, including being recognized with a top paper award at ESTRO, underscoring his significant contributions to advancing oncology practices. He is a regular contributor to health columns in prominent publications such as The National and Post-Courier in the South Pacific region.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Raghunath is deeply engaged in community work and advocacy. He serves as the Vice President for External Relations of the Doctors for Labour Group, aligning his values with the principles of the Labour Party and supporting their vision for equitable healthcare.
In his personal life, Dr. Raghunath finds joy in music production and exploring new destinations, reflecting his vibrant and multifaceted approach to life and work. Through his exceptional dedication and expertise, Dr. Raghunath continues to make a profound impact on cancer care and public health initiatives in Papua New Guinea and beyond.

Dr Rajendra Rijal

Dr. Rajendra, originally from Nepal and now residing in Durham, is a respected GP and a passionate supporter of the Labour Party. Having completed his USMLE, he is deeply interested in medical education and teaching. He is popular among his patients. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds solace in long walks and quality time with his family.

Dr Jatinder Hayre

Jatinder comes from humble beginnings. Born and bred in the Black Country to proud Working-Class parents: his Mum was a cleaner, and Dad was a metal worker. He is incredibly proud of the Black Country and will tirelessly campaign to be your local Labour candidate.
A national award-winning Medical Doctor and leading Health and Social Inequality researcher, Jatinder has scored big wins against The Government. Including leading the Independent SAGE report into ‘Covid-19 and Health Inequality’: forcing the Government to reverse the cuts to Universal Credit during the Pandemic. Jatinder has extensive research experience in many areas of Government policy, and as a Medical Doctor, fights for the rights of his patients day in, day out.
As a dedicated campaigner and trade unionist, Jatinder has led the fight on many fronts. Including being the national spokesperson for Keep Our NHS Public and Unite organiser. He has a lifetime of experience in the Labour Party: elected on the Socialist Health Association Central Committee and The Fabian Society Health Network Executive Committee: yielding authoritative policy development and campaigns.
In his spare time, Jatinder enjoys being a School Governor and engaging in political journalism, as seen in The Independent, The Metro, City AM and Jacobin.

Dr. Ananth Nalabanda

Outside of work, Dr. Nalabanda enjoys tennis, yoga, and family time with his two sons, reflecting his belief in a balanced lifestyle.
Actively engaged in the Beyond the Body Facebook community, Dr. Nalabanda fosters discussions linking physical health with spiritual well-being. Inspired by the Doctors for Labour friends group, he passionately supports the Labour Party’s vision for the NHS.

Affiliated with prestigious hospitals such as Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle and JPS Health Network-Fort Worth, I have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the highest standards of medical practice.
My journey began at Kurnool Medical College, where I earned my medical degree before undergoing rigorous training, including a residency in Internal Medicine at Christ Hospital. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, I am deeply committed to maintaining excellence in patient care.
Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in managing a wide range of conditions, with a particular focus on stroke and chronic diabetes management. I’m Dr. Harish, an intensivist, physician, and hospital quality manager, holding an MD in general medicine, an MBA from the prestigious IIMB, an MBA from esteemed BITS Pilani, and a PDGMLE from NISLU, with a diploma in medical law and ethics. Currently, I serve as a doctor for the renowned Reliance Group in India. Inspired by Labour values and policies, I wholeheartedly support the Doctors for Labour Friends group initiative.
